Andy Yang(Hui Yang), Chairman of the American Restaurant Development Association, Visits Manhattan’s Core Business District to Conduct In-Depth Market Research and Promote Restaurant Brand Expansion in New York’s Prime Locations.

On September 9, Andy Yang(Hui Yang), Chairman of the American Restaurant Development Association (ARDA), led a delegation on a site visit to Times Square and the surrounding prime commercial districts in Manhattan. The delegation conducted research on Manhattan’s restaurant market, restaurant locations within major commercial districts, brand visibility, and outdoor digital billboard advertising in Times Square. The visit served as preliminary planning for ARDA’s future brand promotion, member-business marketing, and commercial partnerships.

Times Square is one of New York City’s most iconic landmarks and one of the world’s most prominent platforms for global brand exposure. During the visit, Chairman Yang and the delegation examined outdoor advertising opportunities across different areas of Times Square, methods of brand communication, pedestrian traffic patterns, and the surrounding restaurant and retail environment. ARDA hopes to use this world-class platform to bring greater international visibility to the Association and to more outstanding restaurant brands.

During the visit, the delegation also toured the future Times Square location of Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao, a brand operated by ARDA co-founder Eddie Zheng. The new restaurant will be located at 147 West 46th Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, in the heart of Times Square and the Broadway Theater District. Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao currently operates locations in Manhattan’s Koreatown and East Village. With the addition of its Times Square restaurant, the brand is further expanding into one of New York City’s most internationally influential commercial centers.

In fact, many of ARDA’s co-founders and core members have long established themselves in Manhattan, operating numerous restaurants and commercial projects throughout New York City’s most influential business districts. These include Fushimi, led by ARDA co-founder and Chairman Daniel Chen and located near Times Square; KPOT, led by ARDA Chief Advisor Tony Wang and situated in Midtown Manhattan; Virgin Hotels New York City, led by ARDA Honorary Chairman John Lam and located in the heart of Manhattan’s Koreatown; and the growing network of Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao restaurants developed by ARDA co-founder Eddie Zheng. Together, these outstanding brands and projects have established a strong presence in some of New York City’s most prominent commercial districts, including Times Square, Broadway, Koreatown, and NoMad.

Although these restaurants and projects are located in different Manhattan neighborhoods, together they represent the achievements of a generation of restaurant entrepreneurs who have spent years building their businesses in the United States, one step at a time. From opening a single restaurant to establishing a presence in New York City’s most prestigious commercial districts, every achievement reflects years of hard work, perseverance, and experience.
Every day, customers from around the world enter these restaurants, hotels, and commercial spaces. What they experience is more than food and hospitality. Through these brands, they also discover the innovation of Asian cuisine, the cultural richness of Chinese food, and the pioneering spirit of generations of restaurant entrepreneurs who have continued to build and expand their businesses in America.
Chairman Yang stated that the purpose of establishing the Association is not simply to bring people together. More importantly, it is to connect the experience, brands, restaurant locations, and resources that individual restaurant professionals have accumulated over the past several decades. ARDA must engage with the market, understand the market, connect its members with the market, and create new opportunities—helping outstanding restaurant brands secure better locations, reach larger platforms, and gain broader opportunities for growth.
From one restaurant to a brand; from one brand to an entire city.

Today, ARDA’s co-founders and members operate numerous outstanding restaurants and commercial projects throughout Manhattan. Although these establishments are located in different neighborhoods and represent different brands, they share the same underlying commitment: to establish lasting roots in the United States, uild their brands step by step, and help more people discover their culture through food.
Looking ahead, the American Restaurant Development Association hopes to bring these individual strengths together—enabling members to share their experience, connect their resources, support one another, and grow together. ARDA aims to help more restaurant brands enter New York City’s prime commercial districts, expand across the United States, and allow the world to see, through every dish and every restaurant, the culture, perseverance, and strength behind them.
The power of one individual may be limited. But when a group of people who share the same vision comes together—connecting the journeys they have traveled, the experience they have accumulated, and the resources they possess—they can go farther and collectively build a greater future for the restaurant industry.
